To That Mom
Hi,
You don't know me, but I couldn't help but overhear you today.
You must be stretched thin and in a lot of pain.
I believe that at the core we are all love.
You must be going through a lot for that core inside of you to be so hidden.
Those things you said to you children were deeply wrong.
But I know it takes someone whose hurting to be so hurtful.
I want to apologize for only being able to process this after you left.
I wish I was more aware, and bold enough, to remind you that you are loved in person.
Instead, I must rely on hope. I must hope that, in speaking into the void, this somehow gets to you.
I want you to know that it's going to be okay. You are loved, you are cherished.
I wish I was able to offer you tangible support.
Though I missed my opportunity, I pray that love and support does find you.
You deserve all the love in the world.
With Love, ~ V
