Reinventing Emacs
This morning I started to fall down the rabbit hole of fantasy consoles like the Pico-8 and Tic-80.
I want(ed) a fantasy console that's more a fantasy general computer that lets me use (or make) a simple text editor for Markdown.
It's pretty pointless, but there's something fun and cozy about fantasy consoles that sound like a cool place to settle in and get some fiction writing done.
I haven't dug that deep, but I haven't yet found what I'm looking for.
But then it hit me, a full, self-contained system running inside my computer designed specifically for a cozy creative environment is basically just GNU Emacs.
So, instead of trying to reinvent the wheel and either find or make a fantasy computer tailored for writing, I think I'm just going to try my hand (again) at learning Emacs.
