Rebellion Can Be Hard (For vs Against)

Today I would love to advise you to rebel against Christmas, and it's encouragement of hyper consumerism, but, alas, I can't in good conscience advise you to do that which I am unable to resist.

Sometimes it can be hard to rebel.

Now, don't misunderstand me. I'm not saying that I just love Christmas so much that I can't resist its pull. No, for me, there is something that I love more than I hate Christmas: My Family.

There are some things that are hard to resist because being for something else takes a higher priority, and that's okay! (It's also okay that it can just be plain hard sometimes, too.)

While, I've been speaking a lot in the negativa with rebellion, I do believe what stand for is much more important than what we are against.

And really, what we're against should come out of standing for what we are for, instead of simply being against something for the sake of being against things.

I am against hyper consumption because I am for living in sustainable harmony.

I am for harmonious relationships with my family. That means, sometimes, I have to forgo being against hyper consumption to stay in harmony with them.

It's hard, but it's okay.
